Well, I’ve been reading John Sonmez’s excellent book Soft Skills and he has inspired me to move my blog from Blogger to my own hosted domain.
For anyone looking to make the same type of migration, first take the steps found in John’s video and then follow the steps in this great post by Amit Agarwal. I was able to complete the entire process starting from domain registration to new blog theme, layout, plugin installations etc., to full blog migration (including forwarding from my old blog) in about 2 hours thanks to those two gentlemen. If you’re looking to just use defaults for everything you can probably do the entire process in about 20 minutes.
